On Saturday 6 December in the village of Grodki in Podlaskie, a mother found her 10‑year‑old daughter dead after she attempted to wake her.
According to the Białystok District Prosecutor’s Office head, Elwira Laskowska, the child was supposed to have fallen and struck her head on the floor during a school visit the day before, but medical services were not called and parents were not informed.
This incident has been described as an accidental cause of death, leading to ongoing scrutiny.

The investigation is being conducted for suspicions of exposing the student to direct danger that resulted in accidental death, and evidence continues to be collected.
