A fatal accident on National Road 50 near Zawiszyn, Poland, claimed the life of an 11-year-old girl after a car collided with a tractor trailer carrying logs.
Initial Reports of the Accident
According to preliminary findings, the driver of the Audi was traveling on National Road 50 between Zawiszyn and Łochów when the vehicle struck the rear of a trailer carrying timber. The force of the impact caused the cargo to penetrate the passenger compartment.
One Fatality Confirmed
The Wołomin County State Fire Service reported that one person died at the scene following the collision between a passenger car and an agricultural tractor.
Child Victim Identified
The 11-year-old passenger in the Audi sustained critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The car’s driver survived the crash.
Possible Contributing Factors
Reports indicate the car was traveling at a high speed, evidenced by a long braking skid. Authorities are also inspecting the trailer for potential lighting issues.
Emergency Response
Firefighters from Wołomin and Węgrów, as well as volunteer units from Jadowa, Myszadło, and Łochów, participated in the rescue operation. The Łochów Volunteer Fire Department stated that two of its members were first on the scene and provided initial pre-medical assistance.
