An 11-year-old boy lost control of his electric scooter and fell in Biały Dunajec, Poland, on September 20, prompting police to remind parents and children of safety rules.

Incident Details

In Biały Dunajec, a town in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship, an 11-year-old boy riding an electric scooter without a helmet lost control and fell on Saturday, September 20, before noon.

The Zakopane police released footage of the incident and noted that, fortunately, the boy did not suffer serious injuries.

Safety Appeal

The police have appealed to parents and children to exercise caution and adhere to safety rules, emphasizing that an electric scooter is a vehicle, not a toy, and requires knowledge and compliance with traffic regulations.

Key Safety Guidelines

According to the police, children and young people aged 10-18 must have a bicycle card or an AM, A1, B1, or T category driver’s license to ride electric scooters.

The police stressed that children should not ride scooters on roads but only in designated areas such as sidewalks, bike paths, or recreational areas.

Additionally, the police reminded everyone that it is illegal to ride electric scooters under the influence of alcohol, carry a passenger, or use a phone while riding.
