Parents of Danusia, the 11-year-old murdered in Jelenia Góra, discovered her phone buried in mud near where her body was found.
Jelenia Góra: The Murder of 11-Year-Old Danusia
The body of 11-year-old Danusia was found on December 15th of last year near a stream close to Wyspiańskiego Street.
Prosecutors reported that the girl’s body showed signs of injuries inflicted by a sharp object, and a knife was discovered at the scene.
Phone Recovered by Parents
The device was buried in mud approximately several dozen meters from the crime scene. Danusia’s father located it using a metal detector.
Jelenia Góra police confirmed that the parents brought the phone to the station, where it was secured and handed over to the District Court.
Investigation Focuses on 12-Year-Old Suspect
In December, the District Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra reported that a 12-year-old girl, a classmate of the victim, was identified as a person of interest in the case.
Family Court Proceedings Underway
Proceedings are being conducted under the Act on Support and Resocialization of Minors, and are confidential by law, according to Vice President of the District Court Agnieszka Makowska.
Makowska added that an isolation measure has been applied to the minor as a protective measure and is ongoing, but did not disclose further details.
