13-Year-Old Boy Fatally Beaten in Masuria; Four Men Detained

Police in Kętrzyn have arrested four men aged 30 to 43 following a fatal altercation between two groups near Arklity village on Saturday evening that left a 13-year-old boy dead.

Fatal Altercation Near Arklity

According to Assistant Superintendent Andrzej Jurkun of the Olsztyn Provincial Police, emergency services were alerted to a violent dispute between two groups near a lake on Saturday at approximately 8:00 PM. A 13-year-old boy sustained a fatal head injury during the confrontation.

Investigation and Detentions

Four suspects, ranging in age from 30 to 43, were taken into custody. Authorities are currently determining the specific role of each individual in the incident. Breathalyzer tests revealed that while three of the men were sober, one 30-year-old suspect had a blood alcohol content of nearly one promille.

Ongoing Forensic Procedures

The investigation is proceeding under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office. A forensic team conducted an extensive scene examination into the late night, gathering evidence and interviewing initial witnesses. A post-mortem examination of the teenager’s body has been ordered.
