17-Year-Old Fled Police, Crashed Vehicle After High-Speed Chase

A 17-year-old without a license fled police in Radom, crashed a car after speeding at 148 km/h, and faces up to 5 years imprisonment.

Police Chase Begins

On March 4th, Radom Municipal Police officers on Kozienicka Street observed an Opel driving too fast. When signaled to stop, the driver ignored commands and fled. Police from the Speed Group immediately initiated pursuit using lights and sirens.

High-Speed Violations

During the chase, the driver committed multiple traffic offenses, including passing vehicles on the right and overtaking at a railway crossing while exceeding the speed limit. The vehicle reached a maximum speed of 148 km/h.

Crash in Piotrowice

On a curve in Piotrowice, the young driver lost control of the Opel and struck protective barriers. A 16-year-old passenger was in the vehicle.

Legal Consequences

The 17-year-old driver, who has no license, faces charges for failing to stop for police and the traffic violations committed during the chase. He also faces charges for causing the collision and driving without a license. These crimes carry a maximum penalty of 5 years imprisonment.
