An 18-year-old in Podkarpackie faces charges for preparing a terrorist attack at a school, supporting jihad, and inciting hatred.
Charges Against Remigiusz Ż.
The District Court in Tarnobrzeg (Subcarpathian Voivodeship) has received an indictment against 18-year-old Remigiusz Ż., accused of planning a terrorist attack at a school in Podkarpackie. Prosecutors charge him with preparing to participate in a mass attack, supporting jihad and armed actions by Islamist groups, and inciting crimes and hatred based on nationality and religious differences.
Prosecutor Andrzej Dubiel stated the attack was “directed against a population group to carry out or support the policies of the Islamic State and radical jihadist organizations” between November 2024 and May 2025.
Details of the Plot
Remigiusz Ż. obtained, collected, and stored information, instructions, and articles on weapons, explosives, flammable substances, bomb construction, detonation methods, and equipment. He also possessed texts praising jihad, the Islamic State, and Islamist attacks. Notes included a list of people labeled “must be killed.” Remigiusz Ż. admitted to publicly inciting crimes against life and health but denied preparing for the attack. He has been in custody since June 2025 and could face up to 18 years in prison.
