CPK announces 49 tenders worth PLN 40 billion for Baranów Airport and rail projects, including runways and retention basins.
Major Tenders for Airport and Rail Projects
This year will see a peak in proceedings related to the construction of the new Baranów Airport and the connecting rail lines. CPK President Filip Czernicki announced that 49 tenders, valued at PLN 40 billion, will be launched, seeking contractors for taxiways, runways, and large retention basins.
Warsaw-Łódź Rail Line and Tunnel Delays
Tenders will also be announced for further sections of the high-speed rail line from Warsaw to Łódź. Two orders for this route are currently active, including one for the line from near Brwinow to Baranów Airport. Separately, the company is seeking a contractor for an underground railway station under the terminal and a multi-kilometer tunnel at the airport site. Five remaining tenders for the line remain, including one for the 9-kilometer tunnel from Warsaw Zachodnia station to the capital’s western bypass. This tender, initially planned for the end of last year, has been delayed due to new shelter requirements necessitating a redesign of the tunnel to function as a wartime shelter.
