A 19-year-old man was arrested in Warsaw’s Żoliborz district after allegedly attacking his mother and her partner with a hammer while they slept.
Hammer Attack and Initial Response
A 19-year-old man attacked his mother and her partner with a hammer at their apartment on Śmiała Street in Żoliborz. The partner managed to escape to another room and call for emergency services.
Police arrived at the scene to find the woman unconscious and the man with numerous injuries. Both received immediate first aid before being transported to hospitals. The suspect was apprehended at the scene.
Investigation and Charges
Investigators secured evidence at the apartment and identified witnesses. The 19-year-old was charged with attempted murder of his mother and her partner.
Following the collection of evidence, the suspect was charged with attempted murder. On the request of the Żoliborz District Prosecutor’s Office, the court ordered a two-month pre-trial detention.
