On Sunday, August 10, police in Okuninka received an alert from witnesses who saw a BMW parked near a nightclub, with a frightened and crying child inside. Officers confirmed that the child had been left by his father.

Witnesses reported that the six‑year‑old had been alone in the vehicle all night. The father and his companion left the child to rest in the car while they played by a nearby lake.

The father and his friend were volunteering that they had alternated checking on the child throughout the night, assuring him of his safety, and planned to return after a morning beach visit.
Day of the Incident
On Saturday, August 9, the 50‑year‑old sedan drove to Okuninka from the Masovian region with his son. While the men were at the lake, the child remained alone in the car. He eventually woke and began crying when he realized no one was nearby.

Police tested both men for alcohol. The father had nearly two blood alcohol units, while the friend had just over half a unit. Health services determined the boy did not need hospitalization.
