Sasin Files Complaint Against Tusk
Opposition MP Jacek Sasin announced on Saturday that he has submitted an anonymous complaint to prosecutors alleging that Prime Minister Donald Tusk may have committed a crime by mismanaging the distribution of funds from the National Reconstruction Plan (KPO). Sasin asked Justice Minister Zurek to meet the demand for the same level of scrutiny that the opposition calls for the alleged Justice Fund scandal.
Tusk’s Defense on X
On the afternoon of Saturday, Tusk posted on X, stressing that the billions of euros from the KPO were dedicated to Poland’s major development projects and that anyone who made mistakes would face consequences regardless of party affiliation. He claimed that PiS’s accusations of lying and manipulation would not absolve anyone.
KPO Investment Map Details
The website released a detailed map of KPO investments, listing recipients and spending categories. Most questions centered on disbursements to the hospitality and gastronomy sector, where hotel and restaurant owners reportedly used EU funds to purchase yachts, motorboats, saunas, and solariums. In late July, the Minister for Enterprise Development was replaced, and the European Commission’s representative said Poland must clarify the controversial spending.
