A serious collision involving a delivery truck in Warsaw’s Bielany district is under investigation. The driver ran into a pedestrian crossing, injuring four people; police later confirmed that one of those injured succumbed to their injuries.

After 13:00 at 161 Marymonk Street, a serious collision occurred when the driver of a Toyota Proace City, for unknown reasons, entered the pedestrian crossing and struck four people. All injured individuals were transported to the hospital. The victims comprised three women and one man. According to the Capital Police briefing, the most seriously injured was a 72‑year‑old woman. By 18:00, police confirmed her death. The remaining victims are in stable condition.
Pedestrians Thrown Several Meters
Miejskireporter.pl reports that the driver breached the crossing despite a red traffic signal. The force of the collision was great enough to launch pedestrians several or even a dozen meters—some landed on the roadway, others on the sidewalk. A few managed to avoid serious injury. The 47‑year‑old driver was sober. Blood samples will be collected to test for psychotropic substances and narcotics. The reason for entering the crossing while pedestrians had a green signal remains unknown. At the scene, paramedics, the fire brigade, police, and officials from the Capital Safety Center and Municipal Transport Board responded.
