Accident in the Bielany District of Warsaw
After 1:00 p.m. on Marymoncka Street in Warsaw, a serious incident occurred. A driver of a Toyota Proace City, for unknown reasons, drove onto a pedestrian crossing, hitting four individuals. All injured were transported to the hospital, according to the Municipal Fire Brigade Command in Warsaw. The victims were three women and a man. As we heard from the press team of the Capital Police Command, the most severely injured was a 72‑year‑old woman. After 6 p.m., the police reported that the woman had died. The remaining individuals are in non‑lethal condition.
Pedestrians Thrown Several Meters
According to city reporter portal Miejskireporter.pl, the driver struck the crossing despite a red light. “The force of impact was so strong that pedestrians were thrown several or a dozen meters – some fell onto the road, others onto the sidewalk,” we read. Some pedestrians were able to avoid the crash. The 47‑year‑old driver was sober. Blood will be taken from the man for testing for psychoactive substances and narcotics. For now, it is unclear why he entered the crossing, although pedestrians had the green light. At the scene, in addition to ambulance services, the fire brigade, police, and representatives of the Capital Security Center and the Municipal Transport Management intervened.
