Robert W. released from custody
On Tuesday, August 12, *Fakt* announced that former right‑wing journalist Robert W. has escaped incarceration. He served two months in jail after the court found him guilty of ordering the burning of animals at a mini zoo in Ostrówka, near Bydgoszcz (Kuyavian‑Pomeranian Voivodeship). He was also charged with breaking into his ex‑wife’s home. The newspaper reports that the man was placed under police supervision and secured a financial guarantee of 40,000 złoty. The court also imposed a travel ban, as well as restricting him from approaching his former wife and witnesses. Prosecutor Agnieszka Adamska‑Okońska told that the suspect must report to the nearest police station once a week.
He allegedly arranged the brutal slaughter of 11 animals
According to the investigation, the suspect—an RF citizen whom Robert W. directed in the massacre—cut the throats of several animals, then hauled them to a barn where their bodies were doused in petrol and set on fire. The remaining animals probably perished in the blaze. The victims included ten alpacas and one llama. The grim event unfolded two years ago in the mini zoo run by the suspect’s ex‑wife. He was detained in June of this year.
