Orban’s Rival Gives Romanowski Advice: He Should Intensify Efforts to Find a New Country

If I had to give Marcin Romanowski any advice, it would be that the closer the Hungarian elections, the more he should intensify efforts to find a new country in which to hide,” said Hungarian opposition leader Péter Magyar in an interview with ‘Gazeta Wyborcza’. Current polls indicate his party has high chances of winning future elections.

Magyar on Romanowski’s Asylum: Outrageous

Péter Magyar, a Hungarian politician and leader of the opposition party Tisza, gave an interview to “Gazeta Wyborcza.” Journalist Michał Kokot asked him, among other questions, what would happen to Marcin Romanowski if his party were to win. The former deputy justice minister is currently in Hungary, where he was granted asylum. “If I had to give him any advice, it would be that the closer the Hungarian elections, the more he should intensify efforts to find a new country in which to hide,” Magyar said. “International treaties bind us, and they are very clear. It’s outrageous that one EU member state gives asylum to a citizen of another EU country who is sought on criminal charges,” he added. He noted that the decision to grant asylum to Romanowski was made by Prime Minister Orbán, and that it should not happen in a democracy. “Our prime minister will not decide on this, as government institutions and courts are responsible,” said the Tisza party leader.

Romanowski: Magyar is Hungary’s Version of Tusk

On Tuesday afternoon, Marcin Romanowski posted a lengthy entry on X, in which he declared that “Hungarians will not be fooled by lies, manipulation, and the intimidation of globalists.” He criticized the political corruption in Poland under Donald Tusk, accusing political thieves and criminals supported by von der Leyen and Weber of initially blocking EU loans and now distributing them to friends and families for yachts, saunas, and even group sex clubs. In his comment, Romanowski called Magyar the “Hungarian version of Tusk.” He warned that when law and order are restored in Poland, those responsible for the lies he spread will face justice. He expressed determination not to let the puppet of Soros and Weber, who are protected by powerful allies, implement their plans in Hungary should they seize power.

Who Will Win the Hungarian Elections?

Romanowski is a suspect in the investigation into irregularities at the Justice Fund. Law enforcement alleges that he embezzled more than 107 million zlotys. He fled to Hungary, where he obtained political asylum. The Hungarian elections are scheduled for April next year. Poll data collected by Politico shows a growing lead for the Tisza party over Fidesz-Prime Minister Viktor Orbán since early 2024. Current surveys indicate a margin of about eight percent in favor of Tisza.
