MP Mariusz Gosek discloses Zbigniew Ziobro’s medical condition and signals his near‑immediate return to the Sejm.
Zbigniew Ziobro Underwent a Medical Procedure
Zbigniew Ziobro was scheduled for an esophageal dilation procedure due to a cancer condition in late July, but it ultimately took place on August 5. According to MP Mariusz Gosek in an interview with “Faktem,” the operation was successful. It also notes that, besides the procedure, the former Justice Minister will undergo “intensive rehabilitation” and follow a special diet.
“I now have to follow a special diet, eating things like porridge and similar foods,” the politician said in an interview with “Super Express.”
When Will Zbigniew Ziobro Return to Politics?
Mariusz Gosek announced that Ziobro’s return would come “quickly,” as he may appear in Parliament on September 9, 10, 11, or 12. The MP noted that the return could have already happened if not for the Rules Committee, which imposed the initial operation date. Recall that the procedure was postponed due to the Parliamentary Rules Committee, which considered an application for the party member’s removal and forced participation before the Pegasus subcommittee.
When Is Ziobro’s Hearing Scheduled?
Deputy Chair Tomasz Trela mentioned in an interview with Polsat News that Ziobro needs to take care of his health. His ability to answer questions freely depends on that. “I think the last Monday in September will be the date; we will propose it to the court so that the court can investigate thoroughly and then the hearing will take place,” Trela said. Recall that earlier Ziobro had undergone an operation to remove most of his esophagus and part of his stomach, and at the end of last year he had a gastric dilation procedure at a Belgian clinic.
