Arrest of Paweł K. and His Wife
According to tvn24.pl, Paweł K. and his wife were arrested last week, and the Łódź attorneys’ residence was searched by police. Both were charged with assisting in the supply of psychoactive substances. The Łódź District Prosecutor’s Office alleged that the couple hid drugs—including marijuana, cocaine, and mefedrine—belonging to another party, knowing that a search was underway. The defendants were placed under surveillance and prohibited from leaving the country, with their passports confiscated. They face up to ten years in prison.
Verdict on the Barczewo Accident
In September 2021, near the village of Stare Włóki, Paweł K. allegedly crossed the double solid line and entered the opposite lane, then collided with a correctly traveling car, killing two women—the driver of an Audi and a passenger. The lawyer denied guilt. In April of this year, the Olsztyn District Court sentenced Paweł K. to two years in prison and a five‑year driving ban. The verdict is not final.
Remarks About the “Coffin on Wheels”
After the tragedy, the lawyer posted a video on his social media profile referencing the accident. “And we realize, dear friends, because everyone says it’s excessive speed, brashness, cell phone use, drunk driving. We forget, my dear, that coffins on wheels also travel on our roads. And that was a confrontation between a safe vehicle and a coffin on wheels. And among other reasons, these women died,” he claimed. He later removed the video. In May 2023, he was penalized with a two‑year suspension from professional duties by the Higher Disciplinary Court.
