Polska 2050’s Spending Unveiled: From Social‑Media Spree to Party ‘Trusted Men’

A sharp inquiry by Newsweek shows that Polska 2050 funneled at least 230,000 zlotys into social‑media services, paid hefty sums to insiders, and a “trusted” confidant—an extravagance shocking many party members.

What is Polska 2050 Spending On?

Renata Kim of Newsweek broke down the party’s finances. After securing 7.5 million zlotys in subsidies in 2023, Polska 2050 received 5.644 million zlotys in 2024. The largest outlay that year was for salaries, social security and other benefits, totaling roughly 1.5 million zlotys. A notable contract was with former party secretary Agnieszka Baranowska, who worked under a service agreement and received up to 10 000 zlotys a month until August.

Who is the ‘Trusted’ Insider?

Newsweek’s investigation also details the wages of Romuald Drecki, treasurer of the Mazovian region and owner of Auxilia. He is described by a party activist as a “very trusted person in the caucus.” Over five months, he received more than 216 000 zlotys, although the purpose of the transfer remains unclear as no details appear in the public register.

Who Were Paid by the Party in 2024?

The party also transferred money to state sub‑secretary Mark Krawczyk for legal and administrative services—24 000 zlotys in total. Deputy Minister of Regional Development Jan Szyszko earned 12 000 zlotys for campaign planning, while Magdalena Dorożka—wife of Climate Minister—was paid 13 000 zlotys per month for communication duties, though she has since left the role.

230,000 Zlotys on Social Media Services

According to the report, Maven Company of Bratislava earned 90 000 zlotys last year providing strategic advisory and political marketing. BD4L generated 230 000 zlotys servicing the party’s social media and its chair. In early 2025, the party hired a headhunter to recruit a social‑media specialist and project manager; the fee equaled one‑and‑a‑half times a full‑time employee’s gross salary. Party MPs protested the high cost and questioned the need for dozens of staff in the promotion office.
