Polish Businessman Arrested in Croatia: “Lords on the Estate Ruled All”

Neighbors of the arrested Polish man describe his conduct and that of his father as “lords on the estate ruling everyone,” flaunting Porsche cars, Croatian homes, and a lavish lifestyle.

Croatia. New information about the arrested Polishman

In the municipality of Igrane, southern Croatia, a brawl erupted between Polish men—owners of a house—and their Croatian neighbors on the night of August 3‑4. The fight resulted in the death of 67‑year‑old Nikša Šodan. Police arrested two Poles, ages 31 and 50, who were under the influence of alcohol. The younger, Łukasz F., is the CEO of a window‑carpentry firm operating in Będzin County, while his father is also a local entrepreneur.

Neighbors of Łukasz F.: A huge blow to the father

Neighbors described the arrest as “a huge blow to his father,” saying Łukasz had been the “darling of the family,” a key figure whose absence would hurt the business. When asked if the arrested man could have physically harmed anyone, one neighbor replied: “He was probably cornered. Men on the estate ruled everyone—Porsche cars, houses in Croatia, a life of luxury. They lived as they pleased, but it’s not appreciated. Money isn’t everything.”

Brawl and death of a Polishman’s neighbor

The Poles had planned a loud, all‑night party in Igrane. It was not the first time, as neighbors had repeatedly called the police. Two days before the chaotic night, officers had acted twice over nighttime disturbances. On the night of August 3‑4, a 68‑year‑old neighbor demanded attention. Participants were instructed to jump fences and push a woman so hard she fell. Her 67‑year‑old brother Nikša Šodan rushed to help and was struck on the chest, possibly causing a heart attack. Despite first‑aid attempts, the 67‑year‑old died. Croatian police reported the Poles had blood alcohol levels of 1.92 and 1.12 ‰, and they faced charges of involuntary manslaughter.
