PiS Politician in a Video with Wielki Bu

Patryk Masiak, popularly known as Wielki Bu, posted a video on his social‑media profile showing him riding in a car alongside Łukasz Mejza, a member of the ruling PiS party. In the clip, Masiak describes himself as a “future minister of sports” while pointing out Mejza as a former deputy minister of sports, both sitting together as they travel. After a brief pause, he turns his phone to display the outside view, concluding, “And major, we’re in Majorca.” The footage was later shared more broadly by journalist Szymon Jadczak of Virtual Polska. Jadczak noted that the MP is spending the holiday with Wielki Bu, a figure with a controversial criminal background, and highlighted the political tension between the two men.

Who Is Wielki Bu?

Patryk Masiak, better known for his performances in freakfight arenas, first emerged in the boxing scene in 2022. He then transitioned to the so‑called freak fights, competing in events such as Clout MMA and Prime Show MMA. Masiak’s reputation was also marred by his legal troubles: in 2017 he was arrested for involvement in an organized crime group that profited from prostitution. Consequently, he received a conviction for kidnapping and spent two years in prison, according to TVP. In 2024, Senator Krzysztof Kwiatkowski brought public attention to Masiak’s connections with Karol Nawrocki. Vice President Kwiatkowski claimed that Masiak is “connected to only boxing.” Masiak’s simply stated that he met the MP by coincidence at a Lechia Gdańsk match and invited him to Warsaw.

Charges Against Łukasz Mejza

In mid‑April, prosecutors filed an indictment against Łukasz Mejza related to alleged false statements or concealment of truth in his financial declarations. Eleven charges were brought against the PiS MP, encompassing falsehoods alleged in seven declarations made between 2021 and 2024 regarding assets. The allegations involve claims that he concealed or misrepresented data concerning his wealth while serving as State Secretary in the Ministry of Culture, and Sports, later as Minister of Sport and Tourism, and in failing to provide required information as stipulated in Article 35a of the Parliamentary Mandate Act. The MP has denied any wrongdoing. If convicted, Mejza faces a potential prison sentence of up to eight years.
