On Tuesday, August 12, a newborn was brought to the Multi‑specialty Regional Hospital in Gorzów Wielkopolski after being found in a closet at ul. Śląska. According to the portal, the baby underwent surgery and life is no longer at risk. The 17‑year‑old mother had intended to give birth at home and hide the infant in a closet. She only admitted the birth after arriving at the hospital with injuries. Once the domestic birth was discovered, emergency services forcibly entered the apartment at ul. Śląska, taking the baby to the hospital. Doctors want to provide the 17‑year‑old with medical and psychological support, as well as help for the entire family, but consent from the girl’s parents is required.

The newborn’s life is not endangered

The baby currently feels well; life is at no risk. The surgery lasted less than an hour, and a full team—surgeons, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and nurses—was involved, according to Tomasz Grzechnik, head of the pediatric surgery department.
