Republican Criticizes Trump’s Stance: “I Am Ashamed of My Country,” “Terrible Defeat”

Boris Pincus calls Trump’s Friday talks with Putin an “obvious defeat.”

The “Obvious Defeat” of Trump in Alaska

Boris Pincus, chairman of the Ronald Reagan Republican Club in New York, in an interview with Polsat News referred to Donald Trump’s Friday talks with Vladimir Putin. He stated that the U.S. President suffered an “obvious defeat.”

Trump promised that if, within the first five minutes, he heard that Putin did not want to cease fire, he would pause the meeting, call European leaders, and say that there is no agreement and that he would join the EU countries’ actions. But that did not happen, he emphasized. “He acted against the will of the American people.” Trump is not worth the United States.

The Republican Says: I am Ashamed of My Country

I am ashamed of my country. This is a terrible defeat for a president of such a great nation, said Pincus. He positioned himself as a master of agreements, but in Alaska he “failed.” “He was a hawk, and we voted for him. But in his second term he became a dove.” He talked with him for three hours, and the result was zero.

The Meeting of Trump with Putin in Alaska

At night in Polish time, the U.S. and Russian presidents met in Anchorage, Alaska. President Trump greeted the Russian leader as a leader rather than a war criminal – he gave him a handshake on the airport tarmac, where a red carpet was laid for the Russian dictator. Putin also boarded the government limousine with the U.S. president; politicians took pictures. Trump was supposed to invite Putin into his vehicle, which the Russian leader agreed to. These gestures by the American leader toward the war criminal sparked a wave of comments from the public. As expected, no breakthrough on Ukraine occurred during the talks. Politicians made statements but did not answer reporters’ questions at the press conference. Consequently, the content of their talks – which they described as positive – remains unknown. Putin proposed a future meeting in Moscow. Trump noted that after the Friday summit, he had to make a few calls – to NATO’s chief, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, and European leaders. He believes the talks will be very productive. In many issues they agree, even in these very important ones. “Here we will apply a deal-for-deal principle,” Trump summed up.
