Duda Hits Kaczyński
During an interview with a journalist Andrzej Duda delivered a sharp rebuke, asking, “Could someone be looking at the situation with too rigid eyes?” He questioned the effectiveness of a leader almost 80 years old dictating Poland’s fate, saying, “I have serious doubts.”
Duda Questions PiS’s Loss
When asked why the Law & Justice party lost the recent parliamentary elections and why no one wanted to join a government with them, Duda replied that reality may no longer be aligned with past expectations. He suggested the political scene might need new changes, possibly a generational shift, and criticized the lingering weight of the old PRL legacy. He implied that the current generation no longer respects such rigid perspectives.
Does PiS Need a New Leader?
Asked whether PiS would benefit from a new president, Duda stated that “a more modern perspective is needed.” He reflected that younger PiS members lack the old PRL‑era complexes and are viewing the world with fresh eyes, underscoring that change is required.
A Call for a Modern Perspective
Duda explained that the Polish political landscape is already experiencing a slow generational transition, citing the Confederation party’s leadership by very young individuals as evidence. He reiterated that “change is necessary.”
End of Duda’s Presidency
On August 6, Andrzej Duda stepped down from the role of head of state. It remains unclear what his next role will be. In an interview he admitted he would accept a prime ministerial offer if presented. Media reports suggest he wishes to establish a think‑tank focused on the Three Seas Initiative and that he might eventually join the International Olympic Committee.
What Next for the Former President?
With his second term concluded, the former president may now pursue new political and diplomatic initiatives, including think‑tank leadership and potential involvement in international sporting governance.
