Donald Trump Warns: “A Tough Situation Will Follow”

Former U.S. President Donald Trump urged Russian leader Vladimir Putin to act responsibly in Ukraine negotiations, warning that failure would create a tense scenario and underscored that Ukraine will not join NATO.

Negotiations with Vladimir Putin over Ukraine

Former President Donald Trump said on Fox News that he hopes Russian leader Vladimir Putin will act appropriately during talks over Ukraine. He warned that if the president of Russia fails to do so, a “tough situation” would ensue, though he added that such a problem may not be as significant as perceived.

Ukraine’s NATO Status

Trump emphasized that Ukraine would not become a NATO member, and that American troops would not enter Ukrainian territory. He mentioned that France, Germany and the United Kingdom intend to send their soldiers to Ukraine, but questioned whether this would pose a problem. He also said Ukraine would receive substantial land under the peace agreement.

Post‑Meeting with Zelensky, Trump Calls Putin

After meeting with President Zelensky and European leaders at the White House, Trump called Putin, expressing confidence in good relations but stressing the importance of concrete results from negotiations. He stated that the relationship matters only if productive outcomes are achieved.
