Former President Donald Trump said on Fox News that he hopes Russian leader Vladimir Putin will act appropriately during talks over Ukraine. He warned that if the president of Russia fails to do so, a “tough situation” would ensue, though he added that such a problem may not be as significant as perceived.
Ukraine’s NATO Status
Trump emphasized that Ukraine would not become a NATO member, and that American troops would not enter Ukrainian territory. He mentioned that France, Germany and the United Kingdom intend to send their soldiers to Ukraine, but questioned whether this would pose a problem. He also said Ukraine would receive substantial land under the peace agreement.
