Investigation of the Accident
Przasnysz police, under the supervision of the prosecutor, are investigating the fatal road collision that occurred on August 18 in the Opaleniec area.
Circumstances of the Crash
Around 12:15 a.m. on the K‑57 national road, a tanker collided with a Volkswagen passenger car at a bend. The truck, driven by a 38‑year‑old, was sober and suffered no injuries.
Fatalities
All four occupants of the car – a 76‑year‑old woman and three men aged 42 to 75 – died at the scene. They were residents of the Warmia‑Mazurian Voivodeship.
Vehicle Condition and Driver’s History
Investigators found the front tires of the Volkswagen to have different widths, and the tread pattern of one tyre was excessively worn. The driver, a 42‑year‑old, was under a lifetime driving ban imposed for driving under the influence.
Road Closure and Traffic Impact
The K‑57 remained closed in both directions for nearly six hours, disrupting local traffic.
