War in Ukraine – Night Attack by Russians

Kyiv reported that Russia attacked Ukraine at night with maneuvering missiles and drones. The targets included Krymianchuk in the Poltava region and the Kharkiv region. The consequences of the attacks are not yet known. Russian forces used, among others, missiles launched from Tu‑95 bombers. Ukrainian defence destroyed 88 of 140 Russian drones. Hours before the attack, the Kremlin confirmed that President Vladimir Putin had assured President Donald Trump of readiness for talks in a Russia‑Ukraine‑US format. The Russian leader telephoned the U.S. President, a conversation that took place in the presence of President Volodymyr Zelensky and European leaders in the White House and lasted about 40 minutes, focusing on concluding the war in Ukraine.

USA – Summit at the White House

In Washington, President Donald Trump hosted Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Afterwards, U.S. and Ukrainian officials, joined by representatives of the European Commission, NATO, and five European countries— the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, and Finland—discussed peace solutions, security guarantees, and a possible meeting between Zelensky and Vladimir Putin. Ukrainian commentators noted that while many indications point to President Trump arranging a Putin‑Zelensky meeting in the coming weeks, it remains unclear what concessions Ukraine might be willing to make.
