President Karol Nawrocki Calls Cabinet Session on August 27

In a move to review fiscal policy and major infrastructure projects, President Karol Nawrocki has announced a Cabinet Council meeting on August 27, 2025.

Cabinet Convened for August 27

President of the Republic of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, acting under Article 141(1) of the Constitution, signed today the decree convening the Cabinet Council for August 27, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. The decree was posted on X by the President’s Office and was published by the chief of his office, Zbigniew Bogucki. The agenda will include a review of the national budget and public finances, as well as progress on the government’s development investment plans, notably the Central Communication Port and nuclear power plants.

Agriculture and Mercosur

The third issue for discussion at the Cabinet Council is an action planned by the Council of Ministers to protect Polish agriculture and production from the influx of agricultural goods from outside the European Union, particularly in the context of the EU‑Mercosur trade agreement and the EU‑Ukraine trade agreement on agricultural products and food.

Nawrocki’s Plan for the Central Communication Port

The expansion of the railway network and the creation of over two thousand new lines connecting previously isolated areas are outlined in a draft bill on the construction of the Central Communication Port posted on the President’s Office website. Earlier in Kalisz, Karol Nawrocki signed this draft. His version aims to restore the construction of a new airport to the level it had during the United Right government. The draft proposes increased funding, with additional resources to be raised through securities, and prohibits changes that could delay the investment or contracts with airlines that might breach permitted public aid. Construction is slated for completion by 2031, with the shutdown of operations at Lech Wałęsa Airport ending by the end of 2032.
