Police officers in Bielany arrested a 32‑year‑old woman and a 34‑year‑old man who were caring for their one‑month‑old child while under the influence of alcohol, with blood alcohol concentrations of 2.8 and 2.7‰ respectively. They were charged with exposing the child to a direct risk of loss of life or serious injury.

Following a report from random witnesses about two intoxicated individuals near a storefront on Staffa Street, officers were dispatched to find a man standing beside a child’s stroller and a woman lying on the pavement, unable to get up.

Paramedics were called, and the child was moved to the hospital for examination. The parents were taken to the Bielany police station and held in custody. After sedating the individuals, their blood alcohol levels were confirmed.

After regaining sobriety, the Ukrainian citizens faced charges of putting their minor son at risk of imminent danger to his life or serious harm, a crime punishable by up to five years of imprisonment. The prosecutor applied for police supervision of the suspects.

The Family and Juvenile Court of Warsaw Żoliborz ruled that the child be placed in foster care. The case was recorded under KRP V – Bielany, Żoliborz.
