Explosion on a Cornfield in Lublin – Unofficially a Shahed‑Type Drone

At about 2 a.m. last night, an unidentified object crashed onto a cornfield near Łuków, detonating and shattering windows in a nearby house. Polish military analysts believe it may have been a Shahed drone, a claim echoed by the newspaper *Rzeczpospolita*.

Initial Incident Report

At approximately 2:00 a.m., an unidentified object fell onto cornfield in Osina village, Łuków County. The impact caused an explosion that shattered glass in a dwelling situated several dozen meters from the site.

Operational Command Analysis

The Operational Command of the Armed Forces reviewed radar logs and preliminary evidence, describing the object as potentially “an old propeller‑type engine.” An analysis is being conducted by soldiers of the Military Police.

Drone Identity Speculation

Unofficial assessments, including those reported by the newspaper *Rzeczpospolita*, identify the fallen object as a Shahed‑type drone, possibly model 131 or 136. Analysts note that Russia began producing the Shahed‑136 in 2023 using its own electronic components.

Reference to Rzeczpospolita Statement

*Rzeczpospolita* states that no incidents were reported in Polish, Ukrainian, or Belarusian airspace and highlights the Iranian‑Russian collaboration behind the Shahed drones.
