The Vistula River at Record‑Low Levels in Warsaw, IMGW Forecasts 10 cm Over the Weekend

Warsaw’s Vistula gauge has slipped to an all‑time low of 14 cm this morning, with the official forecast predicting a further decline to roughly 10 cm by Saturday.

According to the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW), the Vistula’s level in Warsaw has fallen to an unprecedented low. On Wednesday morning, the gauge at the Bulwary station read 14 cm, and the official forecast calls for 13 cm on Thursday, dropping to around 10 cm on Friday and Saturday.

Data from the Regional Warning System, which compiles IMGW information, shows the region’s values are very low: Gusin 13 cm (20 Aug 11:50), Bulwary 14 cm (19 Aug 23:50), Modlin 207 cm (19 Aug 23:50), Wyszogród 235 cm (20 Aug 02:50), and Kępa Polska 166 cm (20 Aug 03:50).
