Incident at Azoty Group Police
On Wednesday, August 20 at 9:40 a.m., two external workers fell approximately 12 metres from a scaffold during preparatory work for the overhaul of the oil desulphurisation unit at Azoty Group’s Chemical Plant “Police” in the West Pomeranian region.
Casualties
One employee, a 53‑year‑old, died from severe injuries after resuscitation efforts failed. A second, a 20‑year‑old, was air‑lifted by the Air Emergency Service to a Szczecin hospital; his condition remains uncertain.
Medical Response
The injured worker was transported by helicopter to a Szczecin hospital, while emergency services performed immediate rehabilitation on the other victim. Despite these efforts, the older worker succumbed to his injuries.
Investigation
Police and the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Szczecin have been dispatched to the scene, collected evidence, and conducted a preliminary inspection. The investigation will determine whether negligence contributed to the accident or if it was an unavoidable incident.

Azoty Group Police released a statement confirming its cooperation with relevant authorities to clarify the causes and circumstances of this tragic event. The company also assured that the accident site has been secured and poses no further hazard.
