Unidentified Object Detected in Lubelszczyzna – Polish Command Issues Statement

Polish Operational Command announced that an unidentified object was observed in Lubelszczyźn, adding that preliminary radio‑navigation system analyses did not register any breach of Polish airspace, either from Ukraine or Belarus.

Military personnel were already on the scene. Soldiers of the Military Gendarmerie have been deployed to the crash site.

Investigation and Response

The Information about the unidentified object, which preliminary assessment suggests may consist of an old rotor engine piece, has been forwarded to the Air Operations Center of the Polish Air Component Command. Air and ground search‑and‑rescue teams were activated to inspect the event region. What Happened in Lubelszczyzna?

On the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, around 2 a.m., an unidentified object detonated near Osiny in Lubelszczyźn’s Łuków County. Police reported the explosion occurred in a cornfield. Within a radius of about 150 meters, charred remnants—both plastic and metal—were found. Residents of nearby homes were unharmed, although several windows were shattered in a few houses. Witnesses reported hearing the from several kilometres away.
