A five‑year‑old boy reportedly walked out of a preschool in Augustów, Podlaskie, on his own. Staff members were unaware that he had gone missing, and the child began to wander the streets.
Police Respond and Recover Child
While a local police officer from neighboring Inęgnów, who was on duty in Augustów, received a call that the child was unaccompanied on the street, the officer intervened. The officer guided the boy to a safe location, while the on‑scene commander also arranged for a district officer to assist. The girl who spoke to the boy and discovered his address found no one at the mentioned home, only to learn that the parents had left for the preschool to pick him up. No staff member was aware of his absence or whereabouts.
Parents Detain Police, Confirm Child’s Safety
The boy’s parents reported the disappearance to the police. Officers informed them that the child had been located on the street and was safe.
