Explosions and Casualties in Western Ukraine

Heavy attacks on Ukraine have killed one person in Lviv. Explosions were heard in multiple cities, including Lviv, Lutsk, and Mukachevo. “The night in Lviv was loud,” Lviv mayor Andrij Sadovyi said on social media, adding that Russians had launched Shahed drones and missiles. Lviv military administration later reported one death and two injuries. Additional blasts occurred in the Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Poltava, and Sumy regions. In Zaporizhzhia, industrial infrastructure and residential buildings were damaged. In Mukachevo (Zakarpattia), 12 people were wounded, and a gunpowder magazine caught fire during the shelling.

Polish Air Force Intercepts Russian Attacks

Polish fighter jets were deployed in response to Russian air strikes on Ukrainian territory. The move aims to safeguard Poland’s borders and its citizens, especially near areas affected by armed conflict. The Operational Command of the Armed Forces said that, due to Russian long‑range aviation activity—including hypersonic missiles—Polish and allied aircraft are operating in Polish airspace. Duty fighter pairs were deployed, and air‑defense and radar reconnaissance units were placed on maximum readiness.

Drone Fragment Explodes in Osiny

On Wednesday around 2 a.m., fragments of a military drone fell on a cornfield near the village of Osiny in the Lublin province. The device exploded, shattering windows in nearby houses. Preliminary radar analyses showed no violation of Polish airspace from Ukraine or Belarus last night. The Operational Command confirmed that the latest eastward intrusion underlines Poland’s NATO mission of protecting its own territory. A protest was announced against this provocation. Polish Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak‑Kamysz said that Russian drone activity was once again a provocation.

Russian Destruction of Aid Convoy in Cherson

Russian forces destroyed a cargo truck carrying humanitarian aid to the most vulnerable civilians in Chernihiv and surrounding areas, disrupting relief efforts for those in dire need.
