From Friday evening, 22 August until early Monday, Kijowska Street will be closed for resurfacing, forcing motorists to detour and altering public bus routes.
Work Details
This weekend, road crews will replace the surface on Kijowska Street.
Work on Kijowska Street begins Friday, 22 August at 22:00 and continues until Monday, 25 August at 04:00. During this time both lanes between Targowa and East Station will be closed to traffic.
Drivers will not be able to turn from Targowa onto Kijowska. Road crews will fence the central lane toward Wileńskiego courtyard, just behind Mackiewicza Street, so vehicles will cross the intersection with Kijowska on a single lane.
The intersection of Brzeska with Kijowska will be closed, as will the junction with Markowska.
From Zabraniegh, drivers will reach only the U‑turn at the parking level and the bus loop before East Station.
The detour route includes Targowa, Ząbkowska, Radzymińska, Naczelnikowska, and Zabraniegh to Kijowska.
Pedestrian Traffic
Road crews will close one pedestrian crossing at Targowa near Kijowska, directing walkers to cross on the opposite side of the intersection. Zebra crossings at Kijowska near Markowska and Brzeska will also be alternately closed.
Public Transport
Buses 120, 169, 512, and N02 traveling via Targowa, Zamoyskiego, and Lubelska will reach the loop on the opposite side of East Station.
Night buses N03 and N71 bound for Winnica and Central Station will be withdrawn from the Kijowska approaches to Warsaw East Station; they will approach East Station from Lubelska.
Bus line 123 will replace the East Station loop (Kijowska) with routes via Zamoyskiego and Sokoła to Stadion Narodowy metro.
Detailed changes to bus routes can be checked on the Warsaw Public Transport website.
