Parents of 5‑Month‑Old Son Appear Before Court
The indictment was filed against 34‑year‑old Łukasz Ś. and 32‑year‑old Anna Ś. at the District Court in Koszalin in April of this year. The man was charged with child abuse of his 5‑month‑old son and causing injuries. “The accused violently pulled the child, used vulgar language, and on October 1, 2024, while intoxicated, struck the boy several times, causing numerous head bruises and fractures to the pelvis and forearm,” the district prosecutor’s office in Koszalin reported. Anna Ś. was charged with exposing the child to direct danger by caring for the child after being drunk and leaving him with the also‑drunk father.
Court Sentence: One Year Imprisonment for the Father
The trial was held behind closed doors. Łukasz Ś. was found guilty of causing injuries but not of abuse. The court sentenced him to one year imprisonment, which included detention from November 1 to June 11. Additionally, the District Court in Koszalin prohibited the 34‑year‑old from working in specific professions for three years, and imposed a three‑year restriction on approaching his son. Anna Ś. was fined 2,500 PLN. The verdict is not final.
