A 41-year-old man has been arrested in Mokotów, Warsaw, for stealing nearly £3,700 worth of perfume from a popular drugstore over two weeks.
The Arrest
Mokotów police officers arrested a 41-year-old man who was stealing perfumes from a well-known drugstore. The thief had taken perfumes from store shelves totaling almost 5,700 Polish złoty (approximately £3,700) in just two weeks. He now faces theft charges, which could result in up to 5 years in prison.
The Store’s Alert
Officers from the Intelligence and Patrol Department received a report from security personnel at a drugstore on Puławska Street, who had apprehended a person suspected of stealing.
Caught Red-Handed
Upon arriving at the scene, the police took custody of the 41-year-old man from the store’s security team. It turns out that on that day, he had taken seven bottles of perfume, concealing them in a bag before attempting to leave the store unnoticed. However, this was not his only theft at this location.
A Recurring Thief
Over the past few days, the man had visited the same drugstore four more times, resulting in a total theft value of nearly 5,700 Polish złoty.
Facing the Law
The 41-year-old was arrested and taken to the police station where investigators formally charged him with theft. He faces a potential sentence of up to 5 years imprisonment. The Mokotów District Prosecutor’s Office is overseeing the case.
