New CBOS Poll: Polish Confederation of the Crown of the Kingdom Faces Major Drop

A new CBOS poll reveals a significant decline in support for Grzegorz Braun’s Polish Confederation of the Crown of the Kingdom, matching the Civic Coalition’s 30% approval rate and PiS’s 3-point rise in backing.

CBOS Poll Results

A new CBOS poll indicates that 30% of respondents plan to vote for the Civic Coalition (a 2 percentage point increase compared to last month). The Law and Justice Party (PiS) also saw a 3 percentage point rise to the same level. The Confederation remains third with 12% (no change), while newcomer parties like the New Left (7%, +1 pp) and Razem (5%, -1 pp) would enter parliament. Below the electoral threshold are the Polish Confederation of the Crown of the Kingdom (3%, -5 pp), Poland 2050 (2%, -1 pp), and PSL (1%, no change). Nine percent remain undecided.

CBOS on the Significant Decline of the Newcomer

“August, the first month of the new president Karol Nawrocki’s term, has intensified the two-party political divide between PiS and KO, with smaller groups losing ground,” notes CBOS. “Notably, the Polish Confederation of the Crown of the Kingdom—listed separately last month—has seen a sharp drop in support, while the Confederation of the Homeland (WiN) maintains its previous level. Other smaller groups within the ruling coalition, including Poland 2050, continue to lose traction.”

2023 Parliamentary Elections

In the 2023 parliamentary elections, Law and Justice (PiS) received 35.38% of the vote, KO secured 30.7%, and the Third Way coalition (comprising Poland 2050 and PSL) gained 14.4%. The New Left received 8.61%, and the Confederation secured 7.16%. PiS won 194 seats, KO 157, the Third Way coalition 65, the New Left 26, and the Confederation 18.
