The Incident
On Friday (August 22) around 5 p.m. on Alei Pokoju in Kraków, the incident occurred. A taxi stopped on the roadside, and two men exited. One collapsed near the vehicle and lost consciousness. Deputy Inspector Katarzyna Cisło from the Kraków Voivodeship Police Headquarters confirmed to Gazeta.pl that the victim is a 41-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan. He sustained stab and slash wounds, but his condition is stable.
Police Confirmation
The attacker fled. Kraków police announced on Saturday morning that they identified the suspect within hours of the incident. “Intensive efforts are underway to arrest him,” emphasized the Kraków Police Headquarters. “Out of case integrity, we will not provide further details about the suspect,” said Deputy Inspector Katarzyna Cisło. Witnesses are being interviewed, and numerous evidence has been secured. The vehicle used in the attack is now in their parking lot, she added.
