As previously reported by Gazeta.pl, the autopsy of Stanisław Soyka will take place on Monday (August 25). “This is a routine procedure,” said Prosecutor Michał Łukasiewicz, quoted by PAP. The prosecution has launched an investigation under Article 155 of the Criminal Code, which imposes prison sentences between three months and five years for unintentional homicide. However, investigators have found no evidence of third-party involvement in the musician’s death.
Stanisław Soyka Passed Away. He Was Set to Perform at the Sopot Festival
Stanisław Soyka, aged 66, died on Thursday (August 21). He was scheduled to perform on the final day of the Top of the Top Festival in Sopot. His body was discovered by a close collaborator in a hotel. As reported earlier, the prosecution has not ruled out obtaining medical documentation related to Soyka’s health condition.
Stanisław Soyka: Who Was He?
Stanisław Soyka’s career began with Polish Radio, where he performed as a young soloist of the Silesian Philharmonic in the 1970s and later as a jazz vocalist. In 1986, he won the Journalists’ Award at the Opole Song Festival. Over the years, he frequently performed at the Opole stage, showcasing original compositions and special projects, including recitals dedicated to the poetry of Czesław Miłosz and Agnieszka Osiecka. In 1994, he received the prize for the best recital at the festival. Soyka’s discography includes dozens of albums, and his artistic contributions have been repeatedly recognized by both Polish Radio, which honored his unique role in advancing Polish music, and music festival juries.
