Drunk driver crashes into city bus, switches places with passenger lacking a driver’s license

A drunk driver collided with a city bus on Grójecka Street in Ochota, switching places with a passenger without a license to avoid responsibility, though no one was injured.

A Skoda driver crashed into a stationary city bus at the temporary Rakowiec PKP station around 7:30 PM. The man, who had over 3 promille of alcohol in his system, tried to evade responsibility by switching seats with a passenger.

Investigation Findings

The driver, a 28-year-old Ukrainian citizen, tested positive for more than 3 promille of alcohol. The woman who took his place did not have a valid driver’s license. Police detained the intoxicated man, while the bus driver remained sober.

Scene and Impact

No injuries were reported from the crash. However, two lanes of traffic heading toward Hynka Street were blocked, causing delays. Firefighters, police, medical rescue teams, and ZTM traffic control officers were on-site.
