Event Details
The final concert of the “1025. Music of Cathedrals” project will take place on August 26, 2025, at 20:00 in the Archicathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist on Stare Miasto, Warsaw. The event will include Alexander Dębić’s six-part composition “1025,” inspired by a millennium of Polish statehood, alongside accompanying works performed by outstanding soloists and the St. Martin’s Orchestra. Admission is free.
Project Origins
The project commemorates the 1000th anniversary of the coronation and death of Bolesław the Brave. According to organizers, the centerpiece of the event is Dębić’s composition “1025,” designed for sopranos, violin, classical guitar, accordion, piano, and a sinfonietta orchestra. The acoustics of cathedrals are an integral part of the performance.
Performers Confirmed
The piano part will be performed by the composer himself, Alexander Dębić. Maciej Frąckiewicz will play the accordion, Iwona Hossa will perform the soprano, Łukasz Kuropaczewski the classical guitar, and Bartłomiej Nizioł the violin. The St. Martin’s Orchestra, conducted by Dariusz Tabisz, will accompany the ensemble. Confirmations come from the project organizers and co-organizers.

– Warsaw – August 26 at 20:00.
Organizers and Sponsors
The project is organized by Bona Fide, the Greater Poland Society in partnership with the Poznań Center of Heritage. The Warsaw concert is co-organized by the John Paul II Thought Centre. PZU S.A. is the main sponsor, with additional funding provided by the Museum of the History of Poland under the “Patriotism of Tomorrow. Great Anniversaries” program. Premiere and National Tour
A performance of the composition “1025” took place on June 29, 2025, in Poznań’s Archicathedral. According to organizers, it subsequently toured the oldest cathedrals of Poland before concluding in Warsaw.
