A legal battle between Polish officials has intensified after prosecutors accused Sławomir Cenckiewicz of aiding misconduct, leading to a sharp exchange of words with spokesperson Jacek Dobrzyński.
Dobrzyński and Cenckiewicz Clash on X
Jacek Dobrzyński, spokesperson for the Minister of Special Services, posted on X about an indictment against Mariusz Błaszczak, accusing him of using authority to gain personal benefits. Prosecutors claim Błaszczak unlawfully removed the “ŚCIŚLETAJNE” and “TAJNE” classifications from strategic defense planning documents. Dobrzyński noted, “According to the prosecution, Sławomir Cenckiewicz played a significant role. This is noteworthy because Cenckiewicz, as the newly appointed head of the National Security Bureau (BBN), seeks access to classified information.”
BBN Chief: “This Man Doesn’t Know What He’s Talking About”
Cenckiewicz replied, “This person again doesn’t know what he’s talking about.” He denied any important role in the case, stating, “The prosecution’s documents on the Vistula Line (which I know all of) do not mention my significant involvement.” Cenckiewicz added, “If I seek access to classified information (which I legally have due to the June 17, 2025, WSA ruling), then you seek the truth—and perhaps something more.” Dobrzyński countered, “While I may not be wealthy, calling me a ‘poor man’ is an exaggeration. Personal attacks are entirely unbecoming of the BBN head.”
Prosecution Cites Cenckiewicz’s “Significant Role”
The Warsaw Regional Prosecutor’s Office stated in its report that “Sławomir Cenckiewicz, along with Piotr Z. and Agnieszka Glapińska, facilitated Mariusz Błaszczak’s misconduct through their actions. Additionally, Piotr Z. and Cenckiewicz exceeded their authority to secure personal benefits for Błaszczak and themselves (in Cenckiewicz’s case, by using declassified materials in the TV series ‘Reset,’ which he authored and profited from).”
“A Veteran of Fabrications, Harassment, and Folly”
Cenckiewicz labeled Dobrzyński as “a veteran of fabrications, harassment, and folly on X, who spearheaded attacks on President Karol Nawrocki during the election campaign, using the ABW.” He warned Dobrzyński against lecturing others about “personal escapades.” Dobrzyński responded, “Your legal analysis suggests you are very wealthy. You are affluent in recklessness! Please, ‘hush, it’s excellent,’ as your colleague might say. I simply recommend maintaining calm and dignity in your role. Personal escapades are inappropriate.”
Leśkiewicz: Cenckiewicz Holds Valid Security Credentials
Government representatives have questioned Cenckiewicz’s security credentials, which allow access to classified information. However, the Warsaw Voivodeship Administrative Court overturned the decision by the Military Counterintelligence Service in June. Dobrzyński later claimed the KPRM filed an appeal, asserting Cenckiewicz lacks access to sensitive data. The President’s Office refuted this, stating, “Prof. Sławomir Cenckiewicz legally holds valid security credentials for access to both national and international classified information, as confirmed by the June 17, 2025, WSA ruling,” said spokesperson Rafał Leśkiewicz on TVP Republica.
