Hot Topic in the USA: Published Interviews with Epstein’s Partner Detail Trump and the ‘Client List’

The U.S. Department of Justice released transcripts from interviews with Ghislaine Maxwell, who spoke about Donald Trump and denied the existence of a list of Epstein’s clients.

The Epstein Case

Transcripts published by the U.S. Department of Justice come from interviews conducted last month by Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche with Maxwell. U.S. media highlight that the talks occurred as the Trump administration faced criticism for lack of transparency in Epstein’s case. The billionaire was accused of arranging contacts between prominent individuals and underage girls. He died by suicide in a New York jail in 2019. According to NPR, Trump himself had previously called for greater transparency in the Epstein matter during his campaign. Meanwhile, in May of this year, the “Wall Street Journal” reported that the president’s name appeared in case files alongside others, such as Bill Clinton. When Attorney General Pam Bondi stated in July that no such “client list” existed, the administration drew criticism, including from Trump supporters.

“Never Saw the President in an Improper Situation”

Maxwell repeatedly emphasized in the published interviews that she never saw Donald Trump behave inappropriately. “As far as I’m concerned, President Trump has always been very friendly and kind to me,” she said. “I like him and have always liked him. That is the essence of our entire relationship,” she acknowledged. She stated she did not know how Trump met Epstein but confirmed she had seen them together once. During their shared meetings, they behaved like friends. When asked if she ever saw Trump receiving a massage, Maxwell denied it. “I never saw the president in an improper situation. The president never behaved inappropriately,” she declared, adding that Trump was always a gentleman in her presence.

“There Is No List”: Maxwell Seeks Pardon

Maxwell was asked about the alleged “client list” of Epstein. “There is no list,” she said. When questioned about high-profile individuals mentioned in Epstein-related publications, she stated that Epstein did not introduce them to her. These include Bill Gates, Elon Musk, former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak, Prince Andrew, and U.S. Secretary of Health Robert F. Kennedy. Concerning Kennedy, she confirmed their acquaintance but emphasized she never saw him act improperly. Some media note that Maxwell, who has criticized Trump in the interviews, is now seeking a pardon from him.
