Arrests in connection with the child’s disappearance

The parents of Emmanuel, 32-year-old Jake and 41-year-old Rebecca Haro, were arrested at their home in Cabazon on August 22 on suspicion of murder. Both were jailed in Riverside County without the possibility of bail, according to Sheriff Shannon Dicus of San Bernardino County. No other arrests have been made, and there are no other suspects, he stated on Instagram. Dicus noted that investigators have conducted numerous interrogations, searches, and analyzed electronic evidence during the ongoing probe. Based on the findings, authorities concluded that no kidnapping occurred in Yucaipa. The child is presumed dead, and searches for his remains continue. The sheriff also described the circumstances of the investigation as “tragic.”

Mother’s account of the attack and kidnapping

According to the mother’s initial report, Emmanuel was kidnapped while she was changing his diaper in her car before a store in Yucaipa. She claimed she was attacked, lost consciousness, and upon regaining it, the child was gone. However, investigators have never trusted her version of events. When confronted with evidence that contradicted her statements, the mother refused to provide further explanations.

Similarity to the case of young Maćka from Sosnowiec

Some internet users have drawn parallels between Emmanuel’s disappearance and the 2012 case of Maćka from Sosnowiec. Recall: On January 24, 2012, Katarzyna W. reported her daughter’s kidnapping to police. Her account mirrored the mother of Emmanuel Haro, claiming she was struck in the head and found her 6-month-old daughter missing from the stroller when she regained consciousness. Later, Katarzyna W. admitted the child had not been kidnapped, stating she had suffered a tragic accident. She alleged the child fell from her arms, hit her head on the floor, and died. However, investigators later determined this story was false, revealing the child had died due to suffocation. Katarzyna W. was sentenced to 25 years in prison for premeditated murder.
