A 41-year-old woman from Lubartów County has been arrested in connection with the May 2024 murder of her 64-year-old partner in Germany, according to Polish police.

As reported by the Lublin Police, the murder occurred in May 2024 in the territory of Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. The 64-year-old victim was allegedly killed by his 41-year-old partner, a resident of Lubartów County, using a sharp object. “A acquaintance helped her commit the crime, having previously attacked the victim with a hammer. The body was later placed in the victim’s car,” stated Police Commissioner Anna Kamola in an official statement. The woman fled to Germany and was sought by Polish authorities.

41-Year-Old Woman Detained in Opole Voivodeship

In recent days, detectives from the Lublin Voivodeship Police Headquarters’ Department of Searches and Identification established that the suspect resided in one of the towns in the Opole Voivodeship. She was arrested by Polish officers in collaboration with the Opole Voivodeship Police. According to police reports, she was living with her current partner at the time. “The 41-year-old was very surprised by her arrest. She left her hiding place in handcuffs and was placed in a police detention center,” said Commissioner Kamola. Authorities then transferred her to the Opole Regional Prosecutor’s Office and the Opole Regional Court, which issued a 40-day temporary detention order. The next step is a decision to hand her over to German authorities. A man allegedly involved in the murder is currently serving a sentence for a different offense.
