Polish President Karol Nawrocki is set to visit Washington on March 3rd, with an informal meeting planned with Donald Trump. Details include a White House Oval Office visit, bilateral talks, and a possible lunch.
Visit of Karol Nawrocki to the USA
According to unofficial reports from RMF FM’s Washington correspondent, Paweł Żuchowski, Donald Trump will welcome Karol Nawrocki on March 3rd at 11 a.m. Nawrocki is expected to arrive in Washington the day before, with plans for a meeting in the Oval Office, bilateral discussions, and a potential lunch. “All details are being finalized,” Żuchowski noted. The president will also stay in the Blair House government residence near the White House on Pennsylvania Avenue.
President’s Spokesperson Details the Visit
Rafał Leśkiewicz, the president’s spokesperson, stated in Polish Radio 24 on Friday that key issues have been set for the visit. “We will soon provide the meeting agenda, including bilateral relations, economic matters, and regional security,” he said. Leśkiewicz emphasized that Nawrocki will discuss “developments in Ukraine, preparations for tough peace negotiations, and the trilateral meeting between Trump, Putin, and Zelenskyy” with the U.S. president. “Contrary to some opinions, President Trump has much to say and will share his views on how to engage with Russian Federation representatives and the aggressor Putin,” he added.
From Washington to the Vatican
Karol Nawrocki will travel to Washington on September 3rd, marking his first official foreign visit. “It is a bilateral meeting. Trump does not meet every European leader, especially not a month after his inauguration. It is a significant success that he is willing to speak with the President of Poland, treating him seriously,” said Paweł Szefernaker, head of the president’s office, in Kanal Zero. Szefernaker also confirmed that Nawrocki will visit the Vatican on his return trip on September 5th, where he will meet with the Pope as part of an official visit.
Meeting During the Campaign
Karol Nawrocki met with Trump in early May during a gathering at the White House Rose Garden held in honor of the National Day of Prayer. The visit highlights the evolving diplomatic engagements between the two leaders.
