Black Hawk flew over Warsaw skyscrapers. Police explain.

A police Black Hawk helicopter was spotted flying over Warsaw’s central skyscrapers as part of reconnaissance for upcoming counter-terrorism drills, according to a statement from the Warsaw Police.

Police Black Hawk Flew Over Warsaw’s Central District

User Paweł Rybicki of the X platform posted a video showing a police helicopter near Warsaw’s skyscrapers and asked, “Why is the police Black Hawk flying over Warsaw’s center?” The police responded, stating the flights over Varso Tower were reconnaissance prior to planned counter-terrorism exercises. “This is part of preparations for urban operations,” they added.

Counter-Terrorism Exercises

As reported by tvn24.pl, the police Black Hawk appeared over Varso Tower (Chmielna Street, near al. Jana Pawła II), Warsaw’s tallest skyscraper, around 10:00 AM. “These are counter-terrorism training exercises conducted by our officers,” said Iwona Kijowska, a press officer from the Warsaw Police Headquarters.

Details

Mateusz Mżyk from tvnwarszawa.pl described the helicopter as hovering multiple times over Varso Tower’s upper terrace before circling the Presidential Hotel and heading toward Żoliborz. The helicopter also circled the nearby Wola district, near Towarowa Street.
