Explosion Details
An explosion occurred at a toy shop on Lubianka Square in central Moscow, caused by a gas canister. Russian media reported that a loud bang was heard on the second floor, followed by smoke and the smell of burned plastic. According to TASS, one person died and five others were injured, with two requiring hospitalization.
Evacuation in Progress
Emergency services are currently on-site, evacuating individuals inside the building at the time of the explosion. The blast partially collapsed the ceiling, prompting six ambulances and fire units to arrive at Lubianka Square. The FSB headquarters, Russia’s Federal Security Service, is located near the affected building.
Ukraine War: Russian Forces Encircled Near Dobropole
Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces have surrounded Russian troops in the Dobropole area of the Donets region, according to Viktor Trehubov, a spokesperson for Ukraine’s Operational-Strategic Group “Dniepr.” Russian troops breached Ukrainian defenses near Dobropole weeks ago, and Trehubov claims the threat has been neutralized, with encircled and damaged Russian forces. He acknowledged the situation is complex, noting tensions persist along the Pokrovsk, Novopavlivka, and Lymanskyi fronts, while other sectors are quieter. Russian forces are reportedly attempting to seize control of Pokrovsk’s surrounding areas and exert pressure on the Dnipro defensive line. Trehubov also highlighted instances of Russian soldiers infiltrating Ukrainian lines in Ukrainian uniforms or civilian clothes.
