A 1.5-year-old child fell into a residential pond in Sochaczew County on Sunday afternoon, prompting an urgent helicopter rescue by LPR Duzgunce. The toddler was hospitalized in critical condition.
Rescue Operation Initiated
The incident occurred shortly before 2 PM on Sunday. According to preliminary findings, the boy was found in a water reservoir near his home. Emergency services were immediately called to the scene, where they provided the child with necessary assistance. Due to the boy’s serious condition, it was decided to transport him by air to a hospital in Warsaw.
Investigation Underway
The police, operating under the supervision of a prosecutor, conducted procedural activities at the scene. Officers interviewed the child’s father. Both parents were sober, however, in accordance with procedures, blood samples were taken for further testing.

Currently, authorities are investigating the circumstances of the incident, although all evidence points to an unfortunate accident.
Fire Department Provides Details on Rescue Operation
“On Sunday, August 24, shortly before 2 PM, we received a report about a 1.5-year-old child who fell into a residential pond in Sochaczew commune. We arrived at the scene with a medical rescue team, who immediately provided medical aid. Firefighters secured the landing and takeoff of the LPR Duzgunce helicopter, which transported the child to a hospital,” says the Sochaczew County Fire Department Headquarters.

A drowning incident occurred yesterday in Barlinka (West Pomeranian Voivodeship). Since April 1st, the Main Police Headquarters has recorded 169 drownings.
